Almost all pieces from this selection are from March firing. Just few of them are from kiln which we fired after my return from Taiwan. And this selection is, most probably, the last for this model of Pots and Tea Club blog.

We have suspected that there can be some problems with closed, kind of community blog, running under blogger. But as more and more people wished to be part of this project, number of those who have real trouble to log-in rise quickly. Many of you even have not get the invitation despite the fact that we tried again and again to make it work. We are flattered that there is more members of our club then the blogger can handle but it is not comfortable either for you or for us. Now, this blog is open for everyone, so even those who were not lucky to "get in", now they have a chance to see the new selection. Next time, all of you who are already in the club (and we have you in our email list) will receive password and username for new website. All those original goals of the club will remain, just under new domain. We hope it will works this time and the club is going to slowly grow. That is for the future...

For now, selection of twenty one pieces, ready to be share with you. As I already mentioned, we also have new tea stoves for heating water on charcoal. We would like to add few of those stoves to this selection in couple of days. We are quite excited about them!

As usually, there is just one picture of each pieces on this site. For more shots please visit this picasa album. There are short description next to each piece but if you have any questions feel free to let me know. If you are interested and you would like to purchase, let me know via email as well. Here, we aplly the "first comes, first served" rule.

Note: From Petr's trip to Taiwan, there are some new teas in our tea cabinet. There will be sample for every piece from this selection+nice post cart as our thank you for your support.

Firings in January can be tricky. Middle Europe wether promises snow and freeze and you can imagine: Whole day loading of our woodkiln, with bare hands in 15°C bellow zero is, let say, unpleasant. But this year's Czech winter is mild, just with a bit of snow and temperature around zero. Good for us!

This time, We choose twelve pieces which are for us somehow significant. As usually some shibos, teapots, cups. Mirka was working on wide selection of bonsai pots for whole more then two months so her work is represented "just" by really small woodfired vase and teaboat from our electric kiln. If you are fan of her work then dont worry. Next time there will be much more to share.

Here is new pots and tea club album with few picutres of each
Dear readers, thank you very much for joining the club. There is already one hundred members and we were very suprised how quickly was that number rising. We already have several ideas how to thank you for being part of this. Tea samples, free cups with your club order and more. For now, three special pieces...

We had another firing with kiln opening last week. It was actually first firing of this year and we are eager to share new "the best of" selection with you. In around a week it will be out and you will be noticed via email. Today three special pieces are not from this firing...

Forgotten in the ash...

First one is small teapot, unglazed, rough clay with three bark surface. This pot was actually really "forgotten in ash". I found it in kiln when I was preparing it for last week firing. As some of you know, there is a kiln area which we use for special "charcoal effects". Some of you might be aware of this technique: When reaching the top temperature, we pull out few bricks from kiln door and cover white hot pots with charcoal. Strong, local reduction creates warm, natural effects. Some pieces loves it...This small teapot was in this area waiting for more than month from last firing. Covered with charcoal ash, hided behind kiln stand...And I was still wondering what happened to this kid.
Teaboat

When you are a potter, then kiln opening is always full of excitements. When bigger piece not only survive The Fire but The Fire lift them up, we feel blessed. And this teaboat is the case. Mirka has played with layers of shino glaze, different hues of brown- red, soft and fine twilight like colors. It is very difficult take pictures to make it justice, at least for us. With such big, flat pieces we always have this problem. Nevertheless, we decided to make another page of this blog, dedicated just for available teaboats. First one is already there...
For the first time, I prepared selection of 15 pieces of our tea ware. The selection is made of pots from three kilns fired at the end of 2013. As I have already said on other places, there are always some pieces in each kiln, which we like and for some particular reason we want to keep them for a while. New glaze or shape, distinctive fire effect or "just" the right feeling when holding that pot in our hands. I could usually label those pieces as "this is the way I want to go". And pieces in my first offer here belong to this category. There is always one picture of each piece. By opening the link under each picture, you will go to picasa album, where you can see more.

This first selection is going to be posted until new selection from next firing. You are going to be notify about that change (or any other new offer) via email. For now, I can just say that it is going to be here for about couple of weeks.

How to order?

It is quite simple. If you would like to own any of ware listed below, please, let me know via email. I will check shipping cost depending on final weight of the package and your destination, and reserve that piece for you. Reservation is going to appear under the picture on this page. All this works under "First come, first served" rule. Payments are made via paypal, shipping is usually made in a week. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
